About My Story

Well about me??? I actually did not begin my photography career loving photography. I was actually a cake designer for 10 years and I decided to buy me a "nice" camera to photograph my cakes so that they would look pretty when I posted the pictures. Well as I began shooting the cakes, I ventured out into shooting other things and I began to really like photography. So I decided to pursue this further as a career and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to get my certificate in Photography. I then just kept learning all I could about photography and in 2013 Knyla Harris Photography was born. Since then I have been a part of so many people's lives. I am a photographer who loves God and I believe that God orchestrated my life that I may find my passion which is photography. in March of 2020, I opened my first studio in the Chatham Centre in Chatham, VA. I have been published in 13 magazines including Virginia Bride for my portrait work. I am a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) as well as VPPA (Virginia Professional Photographers of America). In 2023 I became an award-winning photographer, winning the Court of Honor Best Portrait of a Man, Commonwealth Collection and the Prestigious Vanguard Award for the Highest Case Score of a First-time entrant in VPPA Print Competition. I also have a merited image in PPA. I love what I do and I love meeting my clients who have become friends and a part of my family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours?: Our Studio is by appointment only. We are closed Sunday-Tuesday. Wednesday-Saturday we are available during booked appointment hours.
Where are you located?: We are located in Chatham, Virginia in the little town we call Tightsqueeze. My studio is located in the Chatham Centre and we are in between Divita Kidney Care and Chatham Medical Center.
What payment options do you accept?: We Accept Cash, Checks, Cashapp, and Debit/Credit Cards
Do you have a cancellation policy?: Yes, we ask that you give us at lease a 24 hour notice of cancellation. Although we know that things can happen the day of your session, we ask that you please DO NOT CANCEL the day of your session. If you must cancel, ALL SESSION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE! It can be transferred to another day.
What Are Your Collection Pricing?: The only Collection Pricing we have is our High School Seniors, all other sessions you are given a Pricing Guide after your session and we set up a time and day for you to come back and order your portraits.
